One of our resident Cape Vulture was admitted into our clinic, as both eyes where closed due to infection. We put Eye Ointment in his eyes, gave him Baytril an antibiotic as well as karba-dusted him for feather parasites. Due to the high volume of other sick and injured animals in our clinic, we were worried that the eye infection could be contagious and to avoid spreading, we quarantined the vulture. Currently he is doing much better, one eye is healing and is open, and unfortunately he still does not have use of the other eye. He will remain in quarantine until completely healed.
